Developed with WorldTour pros and triathletes under Shimano’s “Science of Speed” philosophy, the new WH-R9370 wheelset improves on weight, aerodynamics, stiffness, and maintenance versus the previous generation. All models are optimized for 28–30mm tires and feature a redesigned hub with replaceable cup-and-cone bearings.
WH-R9370 C36 (climbing wheel):
36mm rim height, 1,170g weight — 180g lighter than the previous version
Improved acceleration and climbing agility without sacrificing stability
Aerodynamics:
23mm inner / 29.4mm outer rim width, tailored for 28–30mm tires
Developed via flow simulation and real-world testing (not just wind tunnel conditions)
Up to 2.7 watts less drag at 48 km/h with 30mm tires vs. previous model
Aero Carbon Spokes:
New 4×1.1mm carbon spoke profile — reduces both weight and drag
