We are excited to introduce our first-ever Special Edition OSPW RS. The new Argent and Niro versions bring a clean aesthetic and a distinct graphic element to our OSPW RS cage design.
The dark Niro design is paired with Black ALPHA Disc Pulley Wheels, while the silvery Argent design is matched with Silver ALPHA Disc Pulley Wheels
With our OSPW RS for Shimano Road groupsets, we’re lifting the OSPW into the future with a distinctly modern and angular design. The updated design brings balance and refinement to the OSPW System allowing it to blend seamlessly into the contemporary design trends of bikes and groupsets – making up the whole of which the OSPW System is part.
SHIFTING TIME
Active Debris Remover (ADR)
ADR is a patent-pending technical feature that is based on a unique combination that makes it virtually impossible for debris to enter the bearing. It consists of a new dust cover design that sits safely anchored in a groove in the pulley wheel, thereby completely enclosing the bearing.
This is paired with a bladed groove structure that surrounds the dust cover, which dynamically extracts debris from the pulley wheel when it’s rotating.
ADR has been developed in a constant pendulum between our R&D department, the CeramicSpeed test lab, and field testing conducted by a select group of our professional off-road teams.
ALPHA Disc
For our new OSPW RS, we’re offering versions fitted with the ultra-durable ALPHA Disc Pulley Wheel first introduced with our OSPW X for Eagle Transmission.
The ALPHA Disc features a two-piece construction. A separate narrow-wide tooth profile produced in a composite material that offers prolonged wear protection and noise reduction. As well as a solid aluminum disc that eliminates the potential of external objects getting stuck between the spokes of the pulley wheel, while adding strength and stiffness to the Pulley Wheel design.
The first iterations of our solid disc pulley wheel design were tested in the field during the CycloCross World Cups a couple of years ago. During the 2022 CycloCross season, our sponsored team Tormans used the solid disc design extensively and provided valuable feedback on its ability to provide mud clearance in the worst of conditions.
New design: improved quality and strength
The new design for the OSPW RS isn’t solely a visual update. The cage itself has been reinforced to offer new levels of strength and durability.

CeramicSpeed is more than just bearings. We are a company founded on innovation and a relentless desire to change the world of competitive cycling. We’ve grown rapidly over the years, distributing to over 50 countries, with an ever expanding team of unique individuals in offices across Europe, Asia, and America.
CeramicSpeed was founded, and we started producing hybrid bearings in Holstebro, Denmark, for both sports and industrial applications.
Using technology developed as part of NASA’s space program in the 1990s, our hybrid bearings are made with top-grade silicon nitride ceramic balls, making them 58% lighter and 30-50% faster than traditional steel bearings. The production of each ball takes from 50 to 70 days, but the result is worth the wait.
The acquisition of the Colorado-based testing lab, Friction Facts, in 2016 bolsters our ability to deliver efficiency, quality, and groundbreaking results within the cycling industry. Innovation is in our DNA, continuously bringing new and improved products to market, setting new standards, and pushing the boundaries of the cycling technology.
Today, people are the heart and soul of our company. Operations are still based at our headquarters in Holstebro, where the team continue to assemble every single bearing by hand. While the company keeps growing in all corners of the world, our culture and values remain rooted in our history.
