The Tacx Vortex Smart Trainer was Tacx’s first interactive trainer. The electric brake makes this trainer highly accessible and ideal for keeping in tip-top condition.
The Tacx Vortex Smart Trainer positions between the Tacx Satori Smart Trainer, which has a magnetic brake and, like the Tacx Vortex Smart Trainer, a maximum resistance of 950 watts, and the Tacx Bushido Smart Trainer, which has an electric motor brake with a maximum resistance of 1400 watts.
The Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ enabled the smart trainer can be connected easily to Tacx apps or third-party software (i.e. Zwift), including smartphones, tablets, bike computers and smart watches. This lets you custom your training to power output, heart rate, or your own personal preferences. If you’re not using it with an electronic device, don’t worry. When not connected, the Tacx Vortex Smart Trainer acts as a fluid trainer, with a progressive increase of resistance to mimic the feel of the road. The Tacx Vortex has a max power of 950 watts, and a sprint power of 750 watts – it can also mimic a slope of up to 7%, so you can practice some harder climbing efforts.
